Bora is thrilled to announce the elevation of Brian Squillace, AIA, LEED AP, to Principal! A talented architect with 20 years of experience in design leadership, business development and technical execution, Brian joined Bora in 2017 and from day one has been a fearless, passionate advocate for social justice, community-based projects, and pro bono work. He brings to the firm a compassionate, equitable lens that influences our design thinking, and is a respected voice in the community as he shapes inclusive built environments that engage diverse stakeholders and contexts.
Brian’s past work in cohousing and community development has opened doors for Bora to move into affordable housing design throughout the greater Portland area, with recent projects including REACH Dartmouth Crossing and Peaceful Villa Affordable Housing. His desire to build healthy communities also extends to the educational realm, with current work with the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center on Rosemary Anderson High School.
“I have collaborated with Brian on many different projects–from higher education to community development,” says Principal Amy Donohue. “He was a key player on each effort, leveraging his many skills to make our work and processes better. I am thrilled to welcome him to the partnership and look forward to having his thoughtful perspective, creative thinking, and strategic mind at the table.”
