Scott Mooney, AIA, has been promoted to Principal at Bora.
With a 20-year career rooted in community-based outcomes, Scott is a strategic thought leader committed to aligning design excellence with environmental stewardship. His natural ability to connect key partners and initiatives has resulted in uniquely integrated solutions on large-scale projects nationwide in education, STEM, and institutional markets. An innovative designer with honed expertise in mass timber systems, Net Zero Energy, and design-build delivery, Scott continues to redefine what it means to be an architect who can leverage design to address social and environmental issues in a changing world.
“Scott is always looking for design opportunities that break through barriers—material transparency, mass timber’s potential, sustainability and equity in wood sourcing—the list goes on,” says Bora Principal Stefee Knudsen. “He brings this passion to make the work, and the world by proxy, better.”
Scott has been influential to the design of key Bora projects including the community-based Rosemary Anderson Prep and the 320,000sf Jefferson High School replacement, both mass timber high schools in Portland; as well as workforce accelerator modules throughout the country supporting community-based training and education. He is also an active champion of pro-bono public service.
