Feature walls throughout the tech company’s new workplace highlight various achievements and initiatives that support their Human, Connected, and Intelligent guiding principles. The company’s aggressive sustainability goals are showcased in the lobby, where the Bora EGD team created a woven rope “root ball” pie chart that articulates the carbon savings achieved in the building. Through the meticulous tracking of material sourcing and strategic material selection, Bora’s architecture team was able to significantly reduce the workplace’s Global Warming Potential as compared to a baseline building design. Expressed in the form of a tree’s root ball, the carbon pie chart shows the project’s 37% reduction in GWP from baseline and the carbon intensity of the interior as divided into component categories. 

Drawing upon the building design concept of the earth’s “natural network,” artwork on the second floor uses hand-colored illustrations in a modern interpretation of toile wallpaper to showcase the body’s natural network of senses. Spanning three walls, the composition is divided between the left and right brains, displaying technology, science, nature, and the arts through a mix of illustrations. 

Also on the second floor, a reclaimed wire installation creates a unique backdrop for casual gathering. This Circuit Network, comprised of electrical wire salvaged from the building site, combines the attributes of a computer circuit and references to the natural world. This piece marries tech and nature, both of which embody interconnected, complex pathways. 

Every space in the 300,000sf building was considered, using graphics to bring life to the most back-of-house corridors and engage employees in surprising ways. A custom wall graphic comprised of abstract ones and zeroes wraps the hallway that leads to the mail and locker rooms; when decoded, its binary code translates to “Empower All.” Illustrated cables and cords playfully snake in and out of the vacancies created by the ones and zeros, increasing in density as they wrap around the corner to the back entrance.
