We’re so excited to bring our performing arts design passion to the southeast!
Bora has been selected from among top-notch competitors to design the new School of Music for the University of Florida. This long-anticipated project will advance the school’s vision for a world-class facility to support its growing program, creating premier spaces for teaching and learning, an immersive wood-lined 500-seat concert hall with views to nature, and site connections engaging surrounding courtyards and a future plaza. A collaborative effort with Walker Architects of Gainesville, the effort involves a 10,000sf renovation of the existing 1971 facility and a modern 39,500sf addition, leveraging an origami-inspired theme as a nod to the “unfolding” of the School’s new identity and a reference to the angularity of the existing structure.
This one is especially near and dear to our hearts as it will be led by UF architecture school alums! For Bora Principal Amy Donohue (UF ’94) and Walker Architects Managing Principal Joe Walker (UF ’98), this project is a dream come true and like “coming home.” Go Gators!
