The Texas Christian University Music Center and Van Cliburn Concert Hall has been recognized with a 2022 IIDA Oregon Design Excellence Award for Performing Arts, as well as the program’s Juror’s Choice Award. The newly complete 62,000sf project in Fort Worth, TX, fulfills a twenty-year vision for TCU, anchoring a new Arts Precinct by coalescing scattered music facilities into a single, iconic campus destination.
The jury noted the immersive audience experience of the Van Cliburn Concert Hall, which rises up through the heart of the structure to a soaring height of 60 feet. The project was also acknowledged for its thoughtfulness in educational and performance spaces, with every material choice and detail contributing to a story of elegance in craft and refinement synonymous with classical music.
