Dartmouth College Hopkins Center for the Arts

Dartmouth College Hopkins Center for the Arts

Hanover, NH

A groundbreaking structure designed by Wallace Harrison in 1962, the Hopkins Center for the Arts is a dynamic social and cultural destination on the Dartmouth College campus. Our master plan outlines a series of phased improvements providing much-needed space for performance, rehearsal and event support, and creative research, renovating the library into a collaborative and social center while strengthening ties to the surrounding arts district.

In physical form the design reflects Dartmouth’s culture of interdisciplinary collaboration, employing a series of transparent boxes that penetrate the opaque modern exterior at entry points, allowing the creativity within to engage the surrounding campus.
