Specialty Space Experiential Graphics for Tech Client

Redmond, WA

Our tech client’s core principles of “Human, Connected, and Intelligent” guided the design of spaces in the workplace that employees could use to infuse their day with variety, stimulation, and respite.

By alternating spaces of work and gathering, employees experience community, brand, and culture. Each workplace floor features a variety of specialty spaces that support relaxation and play. In the “Work Shed”—a space created for hands-on creative expression—dipped paintbrushes create an undulating pattern on the wall, with paint applied to the plywood and extending down across the concrete floor. The “Ice Hockey” room showcases a larger-than-life custom illustration of a hockey player that appears to burst through the wall while hitting the puck. The “Sunrise” room, a relaxation space supporting meditation and yoga, has a floor-to-ceiling wallcovering that wraps the entire room in a soothing sunset glowing softly from the shelving and ceiling lighting. In the “Olympic Sports” room, a custom-illustrated wallcovering provides a backdrop for three-dimensional, wall-mounted ping pong paddles with breakthrough ping pong balls nested into the wall. Using layered printed techniques, the paddle texture authentically mimics the tactile qualities of true ping pong paddles.

Each space uses experiential graphics to enhance the mood of the room, creating environments that allow employees to relax, tap into their creativity away from screens, or blow off steam through recreation with their colleagues.
