The new Portland Community College Metropolitan Workforce Training Center will celebrate its groundbreaking January 27 at 9AM PST.
The first mass timber project for the College, the 50,000sf facility will be an inclusive, equitable building creating opportunities for Portlanders through education and connections to family-wage jobs. As an anchor in the diverse Northeast Portland Cully neighborhood, the project is heavily engaging stakeholders through a partnership with Colloqate Design, leveraging principles of trauma-informed design and Design Justice principles as well as a Critical Race Spatial Lens to guide a design that will authentically reflect its community.
The Metro Center will open to the public in June 2023.
