by Bora Architecture & Interiors

We are pleased to announce the hire of Stefee Knudsen as an Associate Principal and Senior Project Manager, and Scott Mooney as an Associate and Senior Project Designer.

Stefee Knudsen, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Stefee brings nearly 30 years of experience in project management and design, and a passion to connect people to place, the environment, and each other. Well-versed in industry trends in commercial office, mass timber, and education, she is adept at implementing sustainable and carbon-reduction design solutions and has a knack for bringing clarity to complexity. Stefee’s deep knowledge of K-12 design, alongside her strong portfolio spanning commercial office, workplace, civic facilities, and higher education, will be a boon to our practice’s growing presence in these sectors.

An inspiring leader devoted to building relationships, mentoring talent, and nurturing curiosity, Stefee has been named a DJC Woman of Vision, is active within the AIA and the industry, and is a frequent presenter and critic for the PSU Architecture program.

Scott Mooney, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
With a career of nearly two decades focused on large-scale educational and civic work, sustainability research and education, and pro-bono public service, Scott is rooted in a passion for community-based outcomes that address issues of environmental and social justice. As a designer he is committed to bridging the divide between design excellence and environmental stewardship through innovative, integrated solutions.

A driven and creative thinker, Scott has co-taught design studios at PSU and UO that focus on community and civic projects. He currently serves as a Fellow in Practice at the PSU School of Architecture’s Center for Public Interest Design, where his pro-bono efforts have focused on leveraging community-centered partnerships to create inclusive public spaces and address Portland’s homelessness crisis.

Scott is a respected thought leader in the industry, advocating for action in areas of climate-smart mass timber, energy and carbon reduction, and emergency housing solutions. His own personal net-zero energy tiny house, the Pinwheel ADU, has been broadly published and honored for design excellence.
