In Lighting & Sound America Magazine‘s October issue, “Virtuoso’s Delight” (pages 42-49) articulates how Texas Christian University’s new award-winning Music Center and Van Cliburn Concert Hall leverages design, materials, acoustic precision, and technical expertise for an immersive musical experience within an iconic campus building.
Stepping into the concert hall is “like being inside a musical instrument. The room’s sinuous curves are like those of a violin,” says Bora Principal Michael Tingley of the design inspiration.
“It really was about the relationship between the audience and the performers,” notes Principal David W. Kahn of Acoustic Distinctions. “The Bora team and TCU had a similar vision from the beginning.”
