The Metropolitan is a 380,000 square foot 136-unit luxury condominium. It’s composed of a 19-story residential tower and a 4-story, live/work office building. On the ground-floor there’s retail and also two floors of underground parking.
We wanted the tall tower to stand akin to the historic Portland tradition of building on 100-foot-square, quarter-block site. And by locating the tower in the southeast corner of the block, we reduced shading on a park to the north. This also maintains views for interior units and neighboring buildings. This build stick true to our mission to create spaces with community in mind.
Arrayed in travertine and a high performance curtain wall, The Metropolitan balances amenities with functional and efficient sustainable design systems and strategies. Highly efficient mechanical systems, a rainwater retention and reuse system, and the incorporation of durable, low-maintenance materials helped us achieve LEED Silver Certification on this high-class address.
Located in the heart of the Pearl District, The Metropolitan is near some of Portland’s best attractions. Tanner Springs Park is close by and Jamison Square is just a short two blocks walk. This address also has direct access to the Streetcar.
Our design allows most tower condos to be corner units, maximizing views and daylight for owners. A common area also has tons of amenities. These include a lounge, wine bar, exercise room, conference facilities, and a guest suite. A second-floor roof garden adds needed green space to the commons. These elements bring together residents and their guests to make The Metropolitan an urban residence that takes full advantage of its vibrant Portland context.
