With the changing face of education and the increasing demand for skilled tradespeople, workforce training unlocks opportunities and streamlines career pathways to high-paying jobs for young people who have not been afforded traditional pathways to success. 

Enter the world of community workforce accelerators–replicable, modular, movable campuses transforming 21st-century learning around the country. In collaboration with Amazon Web Services, we designed this efficient mobile learning space to feature technical training equipment neatly packed within repurposed shipping containers, offering a “Swiss Army knife” of configurations to support a variety of training modules. This seamless setup expedites hands-on learning, providing accessible on-ramps to employment. 

Along with natural daylighting, enhanced ventilation, and non-toxic interiors finishes, these mobile workforce accelerators contain all the essentials to train the next generation of electricians, linemen, and fiber technicians. With the ability to easily transform from short-term boot camps to long-term, permanent learning spaces, these prototypes exemplify how good design can innovate an entire industry.
