PRESS RELEASE: Portland Community College Selects Bora-Led Design Team for New Rock Creek Campus Project

by Bora Architecture & Interiors

PORTLAND, ORE. – Design firm Bora Architecture & Interiors, in collaboration with DAO Architecture,
Curious Architects, and Walker Macy, has been selected to design a new $85 million career technology
education (CTE) building for the Portland Community College (PCC) Rock Creek Campus in Northwest
Portland.

The new building will support a flexible, equitable, and resilient learning environment for today’s students,
addressing occupant health and diverse learning needs while looking to accommodate the College’s projected 10-year campus enrollment growth. The design effort will align with PCC’s commitment to social justice, leveraging community engagement and diverse views of race and space to help shape the campus climate.

“Once again, PCC is moving the needle on equity by encouraging firms to expand voices at the design team table when imagining a new Building 2,” said Bora Principal-in-Charge Amy Donohue. “The Bora/DAO/Curious team is thrilled to partner with the College to advance their goal to ‘change how we work to change what we build.'”

Portland Community College is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon and provides training, degree and certificate completion, and lifelong learning to more than 50,000 full- and part-time students in Multnomah, Washington, Yamhill, Clackamas, and Columbia counties.
