Metropolis Magazine features UO Knight Campus Project

by Bora Architects

The theme of innovation through teamwork and transparency defines the new Phil & Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, a design collaboration between Bora and Ennead Architects. The best-in-class facility aims to accelerate the cycle of translating scientific discoveries into scientific breakthroughs.

The project is all about bringing great minds together to make a leap. Something unique for the University of Oregon Knight Campus to be proud of. A $500 million gift from athletic apparel giant Nike’s co-founder, Phil Knight made this the project possible. Phil Knight competed as a member of Oregon’s track program in the 1960s also helped underwrite many high-budget athletic-department facilities in the Pacific Northwest.

The Knight Campus accelerate the timeline between discovery and deployment of scientific innovations. It does this by encouraging interaction and collaboration across disciplines like those seen in the Campus design.
