Bora’s First Built Affordable Housing Community Opens!

by Bora Architecture & Interiors

Announcing the opening of Dartmouth Crossing North, a new housing development in Tigard, OR, for Reach Community Development—and Bora’s first built affordable housing community.

Located in an emerging district in the growing suburb of Portland, this community is the first of three phases bringing family-oriented, affordable living to the Tigard Triangle, a neighborhood in close proximity to retail, schools, job centers, and transit. The design team focused on thoughtfully integrating indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to bring the development to life with a strong sense of home and community.

“This kind of project is the kind of placemaking that turns neighborhoods into destinations,” said Heidi Lueb, Mayor of Tigard, at last week’s grand opening.

Dartmouth Crossing North includes 85 new homes and features a community library and kitchen, lounge spaces, and outdoor courtyard to serve a diverse, intergenerational population. Additionally, the African Youth & Community Organization office, located on the first floor, will provide Dartmouth residents and the broader Washington County immigrant and refugee community with education, leadership, mentorship, and workforce development services.
