Scott Mooney, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
With a career of nearly two decades focused on large-scale educational and civic work, sustainability research and education, and pro-bono public service, Scott is rooted in a passion for community-based outcomes that address issues of environmental and social justice. As a designer he is committed to bridging the divide between design excellence and environmental stewardship through innovative, integrated solutions.
A driven and creative thinker, Scott has co-taught design studios at PSU and UO that focus on community and civic projects. He currently serves as a Fellow in Practice at the PSU School of Architecture’s Center for Public Interest Design, where his pro-bono efforts have focused on leveraging community-centered partnerships to create inclusive public spaces and address Portland’s homelessness crisis.
Scott is a respected thought leader in the industry, advocating for action in areas of climate-smart mass timber, energy and carbon reduction, and emergency housing solutions. His own personal net-zero energy tiny house, the Pinwheel ADU, has been broadly published and honored for design excellence.
