The Agnes Flanagan Chapel is the design of noted Pacific Northwest architect Paul Thiry, completed in 1968. Today, it’s one of the most iconic and beloved buildings at Lewis and Clark College. Paying homage to Northwest Native American culture, the conical shaped building has unique exterior patterns. These patterns come from custom exterior bricks.

The Bora renovation respected the historic and expressive character of the beloved main room of the Chapel. After renovations, The Chapel can host a wider variety of events while also addressing needed accessibility updates. Bora improvements include a sprung dance floor, acoustical reflectors, theatrical lighting, energy efficiency updates and an ADA lift.

In addition to the Flanagan Chapel updates, Bora completed the build of Gregg Memorial Pavilion. With the addition of the Pavilion and Chapel remodel, Bora pushed the design closer to Paul Thiry’s original design idea for two pavilions flanking each side of the Chapel.

The Chapel is now used regularly for worship services, lectures, concerts, musical performances and other campus events. Student, faculty, and community members enjoy this gorgeous space at Lewis and Clark College.
