Reimagining Learning Spaces at OSU LINC

by Karim Hassanein

It’s been nearly two years since OSU’s Learning Innovation Center opened to students and faculty. Since then, Bora has been working with a team of OSU researchers led by Jon Dorbolo, Associate Director of Technology Across the Curriculum, to gather and analyse the impacts of these cutting edge classroom spaces on learning and pedagogy.

This video highlights some of the rationale for and conversations behind the forms of these learning environments, as discussed by the first generation of faculty, staff, and students inhabiting LINC. As the story of this building continues to unfold, and data leads to take-aways, the Learning Innovation Center is already making its mark on the landscape of higher education.

Rather than a collection of classrooms that say “teaching should look like this,” LINC facilitates experimentation in instruction and interaction methodologies, and creates a fertile environment for the future of higher education to take root. Keep checking this space for future updates on research results, video snapshots, and more.
