The Diane Gregg Memorial Pavilion at Lewis & Clark College is a build Bora is proud of. The Pavilion fulfills Northwest architect, Paul Thiry’s original plan. His vision included two smaller pavilions completing the unique campus space. Both Pavilions were planned to flank the Lewis & Clark’s historic Flanagan Chapel.

In juxtaposition to the Chapel’s inward focus, the new light-filled Pavilion offers glimpses of internal activity to those outside. Patrons using the space inside enjoy views to the surrounding forest and natural environment. A venue for music, theater, and dance performance, Gregg Pavilion’s intimate octagonal design is open while also intimate.

When not filled with music and performance, the Pavilion is also a cherished worship space and fellowship hall. This impressive build allows patron support space for Chapel events too. This multipurpose space stands alone, while also providing an excellent contribution to the Chapel.

The Pavilion extends the Chapel’s exterior material palette by utilizing custom-made brick in 11 different colors. These unique bricks are inspired by the patterns of Native American textiles. Inside, the wood interior of Douglas Fir came from five milled trees taken from where the Pavilion now stands. These reclaimed timbers add to the sustainability of the build perfectly complementing the campus grounds.
